Você tem um dia ou momento especial para fazer o que mais gosta?
Agora que eu estou voltando aos poucos a desenhar pra fora, me sobra muito pouco (ou nenhum) tempo pra costurar. Todo momento de bom humor da Lilla eu aproveito pra me trabalhar. E aí, meio sem querer, os sábados foram se tornando o meu dia de costura. Mais especificamente sábado de manhã. É quando bebê e papai ficam brincando juntos felizes, um cheio de saudades do outro, e eu aproveito os minutinhos de folga para fazer mais um (dos intermináveis!! ^^) vestidinho.

Esse é o que foi terminado essa semana, com tecido japonês fresquinho!

Do you have a special day or moment for doing the stuff you like?
Now that I'm slowly getting back to work with freelance illustration I have almost no time left for sewing. Every quiet-baby-time through the day is used for working. And than, without planning, saturday became my special sewing day. Well, special sewing couple of hours in the morning day, but enough for little by little continue my little dresses production. It's the time when baby and dady enjoy some daddy-daughter time and I enjoy my free mommy time with no guilt!

This was this last saturday dress, with fresh japanese fabric!

A Stephanie do Adventures in Babywearing declarou este mês como o Mês Internacional de Vestir o Bebê. Não vestir o bebê, mas vestir-se com o seu bebê... "Slingar"! Ela convidou todas as mães-canguru mundo afora pra se pronunciarem sobre as delícias de ficar grudadinha na cria.
E eu, que não sei o que teria sido da minha vida sem o sling, tinha que me pronunciar!

A Lilla nasceu muito pequena e uma das orientações do pediatra foi que a carregássemos o máximo possível, pra ela não perder calor. Tudo fazíamos com ela no colo... E na verdade ainda fazemos! Lilla é uma perfeita high need, demanda muita atenção e contato físico constante.

O sling liberou minhas mãos. Com ela confortavelmente amarrada em mim eu podia fazer os trabalhos de casa, compras no mercado, passeios sem o trambolhão do carrinho. Eu conseguia almoçar com ela no colo, mamando ou dormindo! Ah, o dormir... O sling ainda é o maior facilitador do soninho: se nada está adiantando para acalmar a bebê, certamente uma volta no quarteirão dentro do sling é um sonífero certeiro e confiável.

Lilla está com 1 ano e 1 mês agora e ainda ama slingar. Não saio de casa sem um sling na bolsa. É uma mão na roda principalmente quando ela pede mamá na rua. Ponho ela deitada com as pernas pra fora e o mundo pára de existir. Ali dentro ela mama até cansar.
Por aqui ele muitas vezes causa estranheza na rua. Não é tão comum. Alguns olham torto, outros ainda tentam "me alertar" que "estou machucando as perninhhas" dela... Mas a maioria que me pára pra comentar é pra dizer palavras boas, sobre como ela parece feliz e confortável empacotadinha no lugar mais seguro do mundo: o colo da mamãe.

(Lembrando que slings são carregadores de bebê não estruturados, que anatomicamente se adaptam ao corpo da criança. Aqueles cangurus tradicionais que deixam o peso do bebê apoiado só nos genitais é prejudicial pra coluninha dos pequenos.)

Stephanie from Adventures in Babywearing declared an International Babywearing Month. She invited all us babywearing mommys around the globe to talk about it, share our stories on how nice it is to be a kangaroo-mother.
And I, who do not know how my life would be without my sling, had to be part of it!

Lilla was born too little. The doctors instructed us to hold her as much as possible. Our warm bodies would help her to grow. And so we did. Actually, we still do: Lilla is a perfect high need baby, who still asks for a lot of physical contact and attention.

The sling was my ultimate helper, specially in the early months. It gave me free hands to do the house work, grocery shopping, walkings free from the bulky stroller. With Lilla comfortably placed inside the sling I could even eat my lunch! Sometimes with her asleep or nursing. And oh the sleep... The sling still is Lilla's favorite sleeping buddy: when nothing is working to calm down the baby for a nap, the sling certainly will: I tuck her in and walk around the block. Doesn't take more than 10 minutes.

Lilla is 13 months now and still loves to be worn. I never leave home without a sling in my bag. It the perfect thing specially when she wants to nurse outside: I just lay her down inside it, legs out, and the world stops. She will nurse as a newborn.
Here the sling is not that commom. Sometimes I get weird glances. There were moments when people tryed to "warn" me I was "hurting the babies legs". Gladly the posite feed back happens more. Lots of people stop me to tell how nice and cozy she looks all wraped up in world's safest place: her mommy's hug.

Preparem-se pra um gazilhão de fotos! Hoje é dia de mostrar pra vocês a festinha da Lilla!

Quase completamente home-made, quase tudo fizemos em casa. Ficou fofo, do jeito que eu queria, e a Lilla se esbaldou de tanto brincar!!

We made almost everything at home. It turned out as cute as I wished and Lilla played all day long!!

 

Painel de fitas eu e minha mãe fizemos. Eu costurei as toalhas, as bonecas e assei os cupcakes. Também desenhei as bandeirolinhas e mandei imprimir, minha mamãe cortou e montou. As letras de pano e os cupcakes de tricot foram feitos por amigas queridas, e o stand meu sogro que fez e pintou!

The ribbons panel I made with my mom. I made the towels (it was my first time sewing something that big!), and the dollies and baked the cupcakes. I also made the cupcake's flag toppers. My mommy helped to cut and glue. The fabric letters and the knitted cupcakes were made by 2 friends of mine (thank you girls!!), and the cupcake stand my father in law made from scratch!

Lembram da Amelie? Ela ganhou roupa de festa e participou da decoração! E pra fazer companhia costurei a Olivia, usando o molde da WeeWonderfulls. Esqueci de costurar sapatos pra ela...

Remember Amelie? She got a party dress and was glad to help with the decor. I made Olivia, her new friend, to keep her company. Olivia was made using a WeeWonderfulls pattern. I forgot to make her some shoes...

 

A mesa do doces e brindes! Fiz as sacolinhas nominais a cada criança, porque separei os brindes por idade. Assim ficou arrumadinho e sem confusão. Eram muitas crianças!! As maletinhas são da Bake it Pretty, as luminárias fiz seguindo essa idéia, os docinhos minha sogra fez e os de copinho comprei de uma amiga muito talentosa. Dentro da maletinha ficaram os imãs de lembrança pros adultos.

A table of treats is a traditions here in Brazil.
I made the bunting which turned out so sweet that I want to find a permanent place for it in my home. The brown bags are the kids' favors (more than 40 kids!! I told you brazilian 1st bday parties tend to be big... And Lilla has so many friends!). The suitcases I bought from Bake it Pretty, tha lamp shades came from this idea. The little candies (don't mistake from mini cupcakes!) are also a brazilian party tradition and my mother in law made them. The ones inside little cups are a kind of cold lemon pie. I bought those from a friend who is a talented candie maker. Inside the suitcases, another tradition: magnetic pictures of Lilla for the guests to take home and put on their fridge doors.

 Muitos dizem que bebês tão pequenos não aproveitam a festa... Pois veja!! A festa foi cedinho, toda pensada pros miúdos, e apesar de simples, sem toda pompa de uma casa de festas, eles curtiram muito mesmo, incluindo a aniversariante!

Many people say that babies don't enjoy their first birthday party. I don't agree! When a party is done with the needs of the wee ones in perspective, they do enjoy! A lot! Lilla and her friends played th entire afternoon!

Por essa roupa fofa eu não levo crédito: é tudo fruto do Etsy! A blusa e calcinha vieram daqui, o laçarote daqui, e o tutu daqui.

 E eu, que tive medo que estivesse frio (pois quando a Lilla nasceu chovia e ventava!), me surpreendi com um calor tão imenso que deixou a minha calorentinha toda suada! Ela passou o resto da festa sem blusa e bebeu muita água.

I feared it would rain (the day Lilla was born was windy and rainy)  but it was freaking hot insted!! My baby was wet with sweat, so I took off her shirt and gave her lots of water

Me sentindo melhor / Feeling better

Eu na gravidez engordei 12kg. Lilla já tem 1 ano e 1 mês e eu ainda estou aqui com 8kg da gravidez que se negam a me abandonar. Muitas vezes eu me olho no espelho e me sinto péssima. Minha roupas não vestem como antes, não consigo lavar meu cabelo todo dia como antes, não consigo fazer minha sobrancelha de 3 em 3 semanas como antes... Eu faço o possivel pra ficar bonitinha, já que tenho um marido muito amado pra agradar, abraçar e dar muitos beijinhos, né? ;)
Mas eu confesso que na maioria dos dias eu me olho no espelho e não me sinto bonita.

Hoje eu estava na pracinha com a Lilla, onde vamos todas as manhãs pra brincar. Conhecemos 3 meninas fofas, irmãs com entre 7 e 10 anos, que adoraram brincar conosco no escorrega, brinquedo favorito da Lilla). Quando a linda menininha do meio vira e me pergunta: "Você é mãe da neném?" Sim, sou mãe da neném. "Você é tão bonita!"

Oh! Não é de derreter o coração? Afinal, como você deve saber, não há elogio mais sincero do que de uma fofa menininha desconhecida. ^^

Voltei pra casa mais feliz!

When I was pregnant I gained 26 pounds. Lilla is already 13 months old and I still carry 18 pounds of baby weight refusing to let me go. Most times I look at the mirror I feel kind of terrible. My clothes don't fit as before, I don't get to wash my hair everyday as before, I don't even have time to get my eyebrows done once each 3 weeks as before... Well, I still do what I can, as I have a charming and much loved husband to charm and hug and kissy kiss! ;)
But I confess that most days I look at myself and don't feel pretty at all.

Today I took Lilla to the park, as I do every morning. We met 3 cute girls, sisters between 7 anbd 10yo, who loved playing with us on the slide (Lilla's favorite toy). When the cute middle sister looked at me and asked: "Are you the baby's mommy?" Yes, dear, I am. "You are very beautifull!"

Aw! My heart melted. It made my day. You know, there is no compliment more sincere than one from a cute unkown girl in a park! ^^

I came home happy!

Sorry for the delay, but I had a medical emergency: my knee!

It was hurting so bad... I went to the doctor and aparentelly there is something wrong with my patella. Sigh.

Now I have to take some tests to make sure...

2 novos vestidos/ 2 new dresses

 Costurei estes novos vestidinhos para a Lilla nas ultimas 2 semanas!
Sabe, essa criança não precisa de mais vestidos, mas eu simplesmente não me aguento, as idéias vazam e eu continuo fazendo mais! hihihi! *Ü*

Pois bem, este de cogumelos eu adaptei o molde a partir deste tutorial maravilhoso que tem me ajudado muito!
Eu tentei alterar de forma que só as manguinhas tivessem elástico. Tive que mexer muito nele até acertar, mas no fim das contas ficou fofo! A mudança que eu ainda gostaria de fazer é no decote das costas... Ficou mto baixo. Mas tudo bem, torna-se uma desculpa pra justificar outro vestido com o mesmo molde pra ver se eu conserto isso. Hehehe!

I've made Lilla 2 new dresses the past couple of weeks.
You know, this kiddo don't exactly need more dresses but ideas come and I just can't help myself! Mamas with little girls, you get me, right? *Ü*

So well, this one with mushrooms was an adaptation from this marvelous tutorial which has been helping me so much!
I tried to make it with no elastic in the bodice, but only in the sleeves. Took me a lot of sewing, unsewing, and sewing it back again, but I think it came along ok after all. At least it looks cute! The only thing I still would like to change is the back, the neckline is too low... Bah, ok, it just gives me an excuse to go and sew another dress in order to perfect the pattern! hehehe!

 

Já este de coelhinhos não deu muito certo... Eu queria um vestido com a saia de cintura baixa, mas ele ficou com 2 grandes problemas: As cavas pequenas e o corpo muito justo.

But this one with tiny bunnies was a total disaster. I wanted a low waist dress, but the bodice ended up being too narrow and the arm holes too small.

 

 

 

To pensando em cortá-lo, fazer da saia uma saia separada e costurar outra parte de baixo com cintura no meio mesmo... O que vocês acham?

I'm thinking about cutting it in half for a high waist dress with a new skirt and putting an elastic on this skirt to use it with t-shirts.... What do you think?

PS: É assim que boa parte da costura se dá, quando você tem uma filha muito grudenta!
