Foi uma longa pausa de postagens... 1 ano sem blog. Mas foi um ano tão cheio de bençãos, de verão e de novidades! Que tal um resumão? Olha só, nesse meio tempo:

Nós nos mudamos (finalmente!!!) da casa velha e ao chegar na casa nova fomos abençoados por Deus com a surpresa de que mais um bebezinho chegaria na família!

In this past year: We finaly moved into our new home (yaaay!!) and as soon as we got there we were surpised with a wonderful gift from God, we were expecting a new baby!

Fizemos uma festa pra contar aos amigos: é uma menina!!!
Minha mãe veio pro Brasil pra passar o aniversário da Lilla e nós fizemos nossa já tradicional sessão de fotos só as meninas.

We had a gender reveal party to tell our friends we were having another girl (just as I wished!)
Than last august my mom came to Brazil for Lilla's birthday and we had our traditional girl's only photo session.

Lilla cresceu e fez 4 anos! Ganhou uma festa em casa de Rainbow Brite. Quem se lembra desse desenho dos anos 80? Lilla encontrou minhas bonecas antigas e foi paixão a primeira vista.

Lilla turned 4 with a Rainbow Brite themed party. Who remembers this character from the 80's? She had just found some old dolls of mine on the moving and it was love at first sigh.

Como disse, foi um ano com dose extra de sol. Nós aproveitamos uma primavera muito quente com piscina no quintal, um verão mais quente ainda, o primeiro natal na casa nova e a barriga que só crescia.

A hora de conhecer Malu foi chegando, teve parteira querida pintando a barriga e uma irmã mais velha cada dia mais ansiosa.

Malu's arrival was near, I enjoyed a belly mapping from my beloved midwife. Big sister was as happy as ever, so anxious to meet her baby sister!

Numa noite de entrada de lua cheia, Malu chegou! Em casa e cheia de amor. Uma amiga querida fotografou a linda lua "da Malu" pra gente poder guardar pra sempre. Foi uma madrugada mágica! (em breve relato do parto, fotografado pela querida Ana Kacurin)

It was a full moon night when Malu decided it was time to be born! A dear friend photographed the moon, and another talented friend (Ana Kacurin) photographed Malu's arrival. It was magical! (I'll soon write her birth story)

Desde então, a gente só agradece a Deus pelas duas lindezas com as quais Ele nos abençoou! E peço que Ele sempre as proteja no Seu infinito amor, pra que elas possam crescer em alegria, saúde e segurança. E assim será, pois "(...) o SENHOR é bom, e a sua misericórdia dura para sempre, e, de geração em geração, a sua fidelidade" Sl 100:5

Since then, all we do is thanking God for His wonderful perfect love... He blessed us with these 2 wonderful little girls. I pray He protects them in His mercy in all of their days, so they can grow up happy and healthy and safe. And I know He will, "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;  his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:5

A adaptação à vida de mãe de duas está mais tranquila do que eu temi que pudesse ser. Lilla é uma irmã mais velha incrível e Malu é um doce de bebê. Temos nossos momentos de caos, mas Deus tem nos sustentado nisso também, com todo Seu amor!
Nos despedimos do pré-natal mais gostoso do mundo e agora estamos curtindo a família aumentada.

Now I'm a mother for two, and adapting to this new reality has been easier than I feared it could be. Lilla is a generous and loving big sister and Malu is a calm baby. Don't get me wrong, we do have our moments of chaos, but God is helping us on that matter too.
We had our last visit from our midwife and it was kind of bitter-sweet saying goodbye to here and the perfect loving pre-natal care she gave us.

Recebendo nossos amigos, curtindo testemunhar o amor das irmãs, montessoriando pela casa (que não, ainda não está totalmente pronta mas um dia a gente chega lá!)...

Visita! - Visitors!

Uma das coisas que mais amo na vida é receber amigos em casa. Se é uma amiga querida acompanhada de um bebê lindo, fofinho e muito amado então, melhor ainda!! A minha amiga Ju veio pra eu ajudar com detalhes da festinha do Heitor, filhote maior dela, amiguinho da Lilla. E eu (e a Lilla) aproveitamos pra esmagar bastante o Manuel, irmãozinho caçula do Heitor. Ele não é uma delícia?

One of my favorite things in the world is to have friends over for a visit. And if the visit is a dear friend, with a cute, chubby, loved little baby? Oh, I tell you, you just can't top that kind of visit!
My friend Ju came with her beautiful baby boy so I could help her out on stuff for her big boy's birthday party.We took turns squeezing Manuel. Impossible to resist! But we also got our work done to make a beautiful super hero party for Heitor, Manuel's big brother.

Pena que estava tão escuro e as fotos ficaram todas bem escuras. Eu aproveitei e pedi pro Manuel posar junto com a Elisa, pra gente comparar os tamanhos. E ele curtiu, viu?

Unfortunatelly it was too dark for perfect pictures... But I took my chance and photographed Manuel next to Elisa so we could compare sizes. Manuel loved grabbing her wool hair!

Dia de meninas - Girl's day

Coração feliz e baterias recarregadas de sorrisos quando a gente tem um tempinho pra passar com amigos que amamos. Elevado ao quadrado se no meio dessa conta entra um bebê cheirosinho!

Tiramos uma tarde pra passar com a Michelle, Aika e Yumi.
A Aika, como já contei outras vezes, é a paixão da vida da Lilla. Amiga preferida. Só que, como moramos distante uma da outra, não é sempre que conseguimos nos ver assim, displiscentemente, sem um motivo especial.

Então valeu nessa brecha faltar a escolinha pra passar uma tarde com amigas, tarde perfeita sem tirar nem por.

Happy hearts and souls fuelled with smiles are a sure result of an afternoon with beloved friends. Multiply it by a dozen if one chubby good smelling baby is added to the equation!

We took an afternoon off to visit our friends Michelle, Aika and Yumi.
Aika, as I've said before, is Lilla's bff. Soulmates, these two. Unfortunately we lived a little bit far way from each other, and that makes it hard for us to get together as often as we wish we could.

So it was light hearted that I took one day off of work (and Lilla one day off of school)as we got a chance to spend a perfect afternoon with ours friends.

Enquanto Lilla e Aika brincavam, eu aproveitei pra me esbaldar numa das minhas atividades prediletas: cheirar bebezinho, acalentar no colinho, balançar até fazer dormir!
E a Yumiu, além de linda, é um dos bebês mais bonzinhos que já vi. Feliz o tempo todo, não chora essa menina! Pra ela não tem tempo feio. Paixãozinha!

As Lilla and Aika played together to their hearts content, I took my time on one of my favorite things in the whole world: sniffing a sweet baby! I'm totally a sniffer. Yumi, so sweet, didn't mind my sniffing. I held her tight and rocked her to sleep.
Yumi is as pretty as a rose, and also is as sweet and calm as no baby I have ever met. She won't cry for nothing. She is happy all the time, so easy going!

My big nosed little cutie got a handmade collar with a jinglebell. She looks so happy, she purs and purs. I think she already feels she belongs.

Ela e o marido se mudaram pra longe, beeeeem longe. E eu já estou morrendo de saudades.

Pequenas melhores amigas / Little best friends

Acho que eu já comentei aqui que a grande parte dos amigos da Lilla é menino. Calhou de ser assim. E ela se acostumou a ser a única princesa do grupo de heróis.

Até que uma amiga minha, de quem gosto muito, veio do Japão passar mais uma temporada longa no Brasil. As nossas meninas já tinham se conhecido antes, mas naquela época ainda eram bebês demais para curtir uma à outra. Dessa vez é diferente. E desde que se viram pela "primeira vez", não se desgrudaram mais essas duas.

A Aika é essa bonequinha japonesa perfeita, e a Lilla é LOUCA por ela.
Ela acabou de fazer 3 anos, e teve uma festa linda toda produzida pela mamãe dela, com tema de Kokeshi (bonequinha japonesa), espia só:

I think I've mentioned before that most of Lilla's friends are boys. It just happened, and she is fine being the only princess among the super heroes.


But than my friend Michelle, who lives in Japan, came to Brazil for a longer season. Our girls have met before, but they were too babysh to really enjoy each other. Now it's diferent, they are little girls, and since the "first" time they saw each other, they bonded.


Aika is a perfect little japanese doll, and Lilla is crazy about her. She just turned 3 and her mom threw her a wonderful party, take a look:

Nos últimos fins de semana temos nos visto com mais frequência, para deleite das duas pequenas! E o programa da vez é teatro. Se for peça de princesa, melhor ainda! Nenhuma grande produção, nada tipo "Disney"... as peças infantis por aqui costumam ser mais simples. Mas as duas adoram mesmo assim!

Lilla had a blast!


Our last weekends have been filled with play dates, specially trips to the theatre. Those kids love to watch a play, specially if it's aprincess story! No big productions here, nothing "Disney" like, usually children's plays around here are quite simple. But the girls love those anyways!

Quem quiser ver, filmei as duas andando de mãos dadas pelo shopping onde fica o teatro. Logo a Lilla que, juro, odeia andar de mãos dadas! Pra ver o tamanho do amor pela Aika... =)

And, if you'd like to watch, I videotaped the girls walking together through the mall where the theater is. Lilla is usually firmly against holding hands, so by that you can measure how much she really loves Aika... =)

Bom dia, semana! / Good morning, new week!

Eu e Rodrigo somos pessoas da manhã. Acordamos cantando bom dia, sabe? Felizes, dispostos e cheios de energia... Era de se esperar que nossos filhos puxassem a gente né? Mas não. Não é o caso da Lilla! Ela acorda com uma nuvem cinza na cabeça. Ranzinza que só. Tanto do sono da noite, quanto da soneca da tarde. Não tente brincar com ela. Nem conversar. Ela geralmente fica em "loading" por uns bons 20 minutos. Como pode caber um mau humor tão grande num serzinho tão pequenininho e fofo?? Alguém me explica?

Rodrigo and I are morning people. We wake up singing good morning, you know? Happy and filled with energy... Some would say that our kids would be just like us... but no. No, Lilla is definitely not a morning person. She wakes up with a gray cloud above her head. Grumpy as can be. From her night sleep AND from her afternoon naps. Do not try to play with her. Or even talk to her. She'll stay on the "loading" window for at least 20 minutes. How can such a big bucket of bad mood fit into such a little and cute girl? I don't know!

Alissa foi pra casa nova dela no início da semana! E as bonecas de Chapéuzinho e Vovó estão quase prontas também. Já já trago foto.

Alissa went to her new home on monday. And Little Red and Granny dolls are almost fully dressed now. I'll show pictures soon!

E nos últimos dias tivemos os primeiros dias "friozinhos" do ano. Porque, né, 21ºC pra carioca é praticamente inverno glacial!

E no fim de semana passado fizemos um dos nossos passeios prediletos com uns de nossos amigos mais especiais: Letícia & família. E o ponto fofo do dia foi a mamãe dela, Fernanda, contando que a Lele, ansiosa pelo passeio, falou assim: "estou LOUCA pra ver a Lilla!"

This last week greeted us with the first cold days of the year. You see, 70ºF for us in Rio is practicaly glacial winter type of cold.


And last weekend we went to one of our favorite places with some of our most special friends, Leticia and family. And the high cute-point of the day was Leticia's mom, Fernanda, telling us that Leticia, anxious for the play-date, said: "I'm mad about seeing Lilla today!"

E o meu ponto alto da semana foi a Lilla me abraçando e dizendo: "mamãezinha, você é o amor da minha vida!" Pronto, derreti!

And MY high point of the week was when Lilla hugged me saying: "Mommy, you are the love of my life!" There! I'm fully completely absolutely the happiest mommy on the face of the earth!
