Foi uma longa pausa de postagens... 1 ano sem blog. Mas foi um ano tão cheio de bençãos, de verão e de novidades! Que tal um resumão? Olha só, nesse meio tempo:

Nós nos mudamos (finalmente!!!) da casa velha e ao chegar na casa nova fomos abençoados por Deus com a surpresa de que mais um bebezinho chegaria na família!

It's been a long time! No blogging for a whole year. A blessed, summery and full year! Care for a summary?
 
In this past year: We finaly moved into our new home (yaaay!!) and as soon as we got there we were surpised with a wonderful gift from God, we were expecting a new baby!

Fizemos uma festa pra contar aos amigos: é uma menina!!!
Minha mãe veio pro Brasil pra passar o aniversário da Lilla e nós fizemos nossa já tradicional sessão de fotos só as meninas.

We had a gender reveal party to tell our friends we were having another girl (just as I wished!)
Than last august my mom came to Brazil for Lilla's birthday and we had our traditional girl's only photo session.

Lilla cresceu e fez 4 anos! Ganhou uma festa em casa de Rainbow Brite. Quem se lembra desse desenho dos anos 80? Lilla encontrou minhas bonecas antigas e foi paixão a primeira vista.

Lilla turned 4 with a Rainbow Brite themed party. Who remembers this character from the 80's? She had just found some old dolls of mine on the moving and it was love at first sigh.

Como disse, foi um ano com dose extra de sol. Nós aproveitamos uma primavera muito quente com piscina no quintal, um verão mais quente ainda, o primeiro natal na casa nova e a barriga que só crescia.

A hora de conhecer Malu foi chegando, teve parteira querida pintando a barriga e uma irmã mais velha cada dia mais ansiosa.

Malu's arrival was near, I enjoyed a belly mapping from my beloved midwife. Big sister was as happy as ever, so anxious to meet her baby sister!

Numa noite de entrada de lua cheia, Malu chegou! Em casa e cheia de amor. Uma amiga querida fotografou a linda lua "da Malu" pra gente poder guardar pra sempre. Foi uma madrugada mágica! (em breve relato do parto, fotografado pela querida Ana Kacurin)

It was a full moon night when Malu decided it was time to be born! A dear friend photographed the moon, and another talented friend (Ana Kacurin) photographed Malu's arrival. It was magical! (I'll soon write her birth story)

Desde então, a gente só agradece a Deus pelas duas lindezas com as quais Ele nos abençoou! E peço que Ele sempre as proteja no Seu infinito amor, pra que elas possam crescer em alegria, saúde e segurança. E assim será, pois "(...) o SENHOR é bom, e a sua misericórdia dura para sempre, e, de geração em geração, a sua fidelidade" Sl 100:5

Since then, all we do is thanking God for His wonderful perfect love... He blessed us with these 2 wonderful little girls. I pray He protects them in His mercy in all of their days, so they can grow up happy and healthy and safe. And I know He will, "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;  his faithfulness continues through all generations." Psalm 100:5

A adaptação à vida de mãe de duas está mais tranquila do que eu temi que pudesse ser. Lilla é uma irmã mais velha incrível e Malu é um doce de bebê. Temos nossos momentos de caos, mas Deus tem nos sustentado nisso também, com todo Seu amor!
Nos despedimos do pré-natal mais gostoso do mundo e agora estamos curtindo a família aumentada.

Now I'm a mother for two, and adapting to this new reality has been easier than I feared it could be. Lilla is a generous and loving big sister and Malu is a calm baby. Don't get me wrong, we do have our moments of chaos, but God is helping us on that matter too.
We had our last visit from our midwife and it was kind of bitter-sweet saying goodbye to here and the perfect loving pre-natal care she gave us.

Recebendo nossos amigos, curtindo testemunhar o amor das irmãs, montessoriando pela casa (que não, ainda não está totalmente pronta mas um dia a gente chega lá!)...

Um post enorme / A ginormous post

Alguém sente a minha falta? A coisa tá feia por aqui. Vamos dizer assim: É claro que estou super grata pela perspectiva de ter uma linda casa onde futuramente vamos morar. Mas desejo de coração que nunca jamais tenhamos que passar por uma obra enorme de novo. E ponto final.

Vamos à parte boa?

A produção da lojinha anda intensa. Eu aceitei pedidos de encomendas de costura nos últimos meses, coisa que eu antes não fazia. O que significou muito trabalho extra. Uma das encomendas foi um kit de boneca e bichinhos como os da última festa da Lilla:

Does anyone miss me? Things are kinda ugly here. Lets put it this way: Though I'm really grateful for the perpective of having a pretty house where we'll futurally live in, I wish with all my heart that we never ever have to go through such a big home makeover again. Period. Moving on.


Let's talk about the nice things, shall we?


Work work work. This has been the motto of my life latelly. Besides the drawing, I took some sewing costume orders this past months, for the firts time ever. One of the orders was this: doll and critters, like the ones I did for Lilla's birthday:

E ainda teve outras bonecas, tipo waldorf, em fase final de produção. Aliás, quem gosta delas, fique de olho. Vou disponibilizar duas novas: uma (que está pronta, e tão lindinha!!) na lojinha nos próximos dias. E outra menor, tipo bebê, de giveaway por aqui!

E será que alguém quer ver os últimos (acumulados, eu sei, sorry!) vestidos? Acho que não atualizo eles por aqui desde o ano passado, né?

And this bunny skirt was made as a gift for Mel, dear Marcia's daughter who just turned 6. She had a cute party to celebrate:

Detalhe que eu não consegui tirar uma única foto da aniversariante, que pirulitou, correu e pulou a festa inteira pra lá e pra cá. Sinal de que ela realmente se divertiu! Apesar de a maioria das crianças da festa ser "grande", Lilla teve a Aika pra brincar com ela. As duas se dão super bem, é uma gracinha de ver!

Ah, amigos! A vida seria muito chata sem eles né?
Eu acho muito engraçado que alguns amigos meus a Lilla tem como sendo amigos dela também.
Os dindos eu entendo, afinal são os dindos... têm uma ligação muito especial. Mas ela também ama a Tia Carol e o Tio Alan. E quando chamamos eles todos para um sábado gostoso aqui em casa, nem me preocupei com a ausência de outras crianças pra ela brincar. Quem precisa de crianças quando se tem amigos grandes tão legais quanto os pequenos!!

I wasn't able to snap a single picture of the birthday girl. She was too busy dancing, playing, jumping, runnig around with her friends! Good for her, certainly!
Although the party was focused on the bigger kids, Lilla had Aika to play with. They both get along so well... It's heart warming to watch!


Ah, friends. Life would be dull without them!
I find it funny that Lilla thinks that some of my friends are actually hers.
The Godparents I understand, they do have a special bond... But she also loves Auntie Carol and Uncle Alan. (Here in Brazil it is common that kids call any grown up as "aunt" and "uncle"). So, when we invited them all to come spend a saturday evening with us, I didn't even worry about Lilla having no little friends to play with. Who needs little friends, when you have such nice and funny big friends?

Meu hamburgueiro lindo é fera no assunto! ^^

Ficamos conversando sobre como é bacana (pelo menos aos nossos olhos) a Lilla crescer cheia de tios "legais": Praticamento todo mundo tem um trabalho divertido, entre animadores, ilustradores, fotógrafos, artistas... Se ela quiser seguir a área de artes, está muito bem servida de tutores!


O apego da Lilla por alguns dos "amigos grandes" chega ao ponto de ela requerer a presença deles. Semana passada, por exemplo, cismou que queria brincar com a Tia Lindinha. Me fez telefonar pra ela, pra convidá-la pra vir aqui em casa. E a Linda (que não resiste à Lilla também!) num instantinho arrumou uma manhã livre pra fugir e vir pra cá, brincar e almoçar conosco!

We talked about how nice it is (at least through our eyes) for Lilla to have so many great aunts and uncles. Almost every one of us have a fun job. We are illustrators, designers, photographers, animators... If she ever wishes to follow carrer in arts, she is well served regarding possible tutors!


Lilla's love for some of her "big friends" is so true, that sometimes she requests one of them. Last week was auntie Linda's turn. Lilla insisted on inviting her to come to our house, so she talked to her on the phone and invited her herself. And auntie Lindinha, who loves Lilla back, arranged a free morning to come stay with us!

A Linda é minha amiga desde a época da faculdade. Nos conhecemos há dez anos atrás quando entramos juntas para o curso de artes. Nós eramos inseparáveis naquela época! =)
E a Lilla a adora, porque a Tia Lindinha brinca feito criança. Corre, pula, grita e faz careta! ahahah!

No mais, os nossos dias continuam, sim, cheios de crianças também. A pracinha voltou a agradar (ah, crianças pequenas e suas emoções voláteis...) e voltamos a ir pra lá quase todas as manhãs.

E as tardes estão mais cheias de trabalho do que nunca. Tenho feito jornada dupla e trabalhado madrugada adentro pra dar conta das encomendas da lojinha (as ilustrações personalizadas estão fazendo fila!)
Aliás, quem pretende comprar uma, aviso que é bom correr: na época da mudança vou retirá-las da loja por um tempo (elas são trabalho duro, e eu não acho que eu daria conta no meio do caos que serão as primeiras semanas pós mudança).

Linda is my friend from college years. We've met 10 years ago, when we were both freshmans at Art School. We were inseparable back then! =)
And Lilla loves her, because she plays just like a kid. She runs, she jumps, she screams and make funny faces! 


Thought Lilla has such nice big friends, her life is still full of little friends too. The local park is back in the game (oh, toddlers and their volatile emotions...) so we are back to going there almost every morning.
And the afternoons, oh man, those are filled with job hours. I've been working through the night to keep up with my dead lines. And the custom drawings now have a waiting line. Whichs reminds me: if you wish to buy one of those, don't wait too long: as soon as we move in to the new house, I'll stop offering those for a while.  They are hard work, and I'm affraid I wouldn't be able to manage it along with a new house to settle in.

Deixo você com esses sorrisos, pq né? Coisa mais fofa! Lilla e Raul. Se amam. Só que é assim: quando um quer abraçar, o outro não quer. Quando o outro quer, o um não quer mais. A mesma regra vale pra dar as mão, e dar beijos. Maior comédia. Momento assim, dos dois dando abracinho, JUNTOS, de boa vontade... Raro! Que bom que deu pra capturar em foto!

I'll leave you with this double smile because, come on! Can't get any cutter than that. These two love each other. But it usually goes like this: when one wants to hug, the other doesn't. If the other changes mind, the one now refuses it. The same thing goes to hold hands, kisses, and cuddles. So funny!
A moment like this, they BOTH hugging and similing is trully rare. So glad I managed to snap a pic!

Sempre assim / Always the same

Eu comecei com essa foto porque, né?? Fofa demais da conta!
Fofurice transbordante. Ela tem abusado da fofurice até no falar. Essa semana eu disse pra ela: "Filha, sabia que você é muito fofinha?"
Ao que ela respondeu: "Eu sei. Eu sou linda e maravilhosa. Você é linda, maravilhosa e fofinha também, mamãe!"

Bom, já vi que a auto-estima vai bem, obrigada! ^^

I had to start with this pic because it's just cuteness overloaded!
She has hit that phase where she says funny little things all the time. A couple of days ago I asked her: "Baby, did you know you are the cuttest thing ever?"
To which she responded: "Yes I knew. And I'm beautiful and marvelous. You are beautiful, marvelous and cute too, mommy!"
Well, can't her self-esteem has any issues! ^^

Me corrijam se eu estiver errada, mas obra é sempre assim: Você começa achando que tem umas 10 ou 15 coisas pra fazer. E termina fazendo 45023570357057045023457252070209 coisas a mais. Bem, no nosso caso, não termina né? Já era pra ter terminado, mas foram tantas surpresas pelo caminho que mudança que é bom eu acho que só em março! =(

E esse é o motivo principal da minha ausência por aqui. Todo dia tem que comprar material, ligar pra algum cara de algum orçamento, correr pra lá e pra cá... 

E além da obra, da lojinha e dos outros trabalhos de ilustração, eu tenho o meu emprego principal:

I believe that every big home makeover goes like that: You get the job started knowing there are 10 to 15 problems to solve. And then, in the end, 713451345745784373983845745650841 got solved and we still have 546854606 to go. Sigh. 
So, we are still in the apartament, and still with no specific date to move. The contractor says it all ends in february. But I believe it will only end in march.
Until then, I'm the one to run to stores every day, as there's always some materials missing, or new decisions to make.
That's the main reason for my blog absence. Sorry about that! Apart form the makeover, there is still my shop, and my illustration jobs, and above all, my main job:

Brincar é coisa séria! E eu acho que já citei aqui o blog que me traz ótimas inspirações: play at home mom.

A brincadeira sensorial com as bolhinhas de sílica são idéia dela, e a Lilla ama!

Primeiro brinca com medidas, entorna de um pote pro outro, vê elas quicando. Depois ela sempre pede pra "mergulhar" nelas e fica feliz da vida! To doida pra na casa nova poder usar a área externa pra multiplicar a bagunça!

Because playing is serious stuff! I believe I've already mentioned here my wonderfull source of toddler play ideas: play at home mom. The sensorial play with water beads came from there, Lilla loves it!
She plays first with the measure cups, than she usually tries to pour them all at once to the other big container, and in the end she always tries to "dive" in them! It's a lovelly mess! Can't wait to move to the new house, where we'll be able to make an even bigger mess on the outside area we'll have!

Ano passado, na semana do natal, o Rodrigo teve uns dias de folga que nós tentamos aproveitar ao máximo em família! Teve visita a fazendinha num fim de semana:

In the end of december, Rodrigo got a few days off work. So we tryed to savor it as a family, with lots of outside play. One of the things we've done was this trip to the local petting farm:

We also got a few days to go to Lilla's friend João's home. He has a nice pool and Lilla learned to swim "on her own" wearing arm floats, and to jump from the deck to the pool!

No fim das contas, os dias andam tão corridos que da maior parte das coisas eu nem tirei fotos! E numa das intermináveis idas a lojas de materiais de construção, eu perdi meu celular! E com ele tantas tantas fotos e vídeos da Lilla... =(

My little firecracker! She now has an unchanging answer, when I ask her if she wants a baby sister or a baby brother when she gorws a little more, she answers: "I WANT TWO BABY SISTERS!!"
