A melhor vovó do mundo / The best granny in the whole world

E ela me amou incondicionalmente.

Ela fazia caretas.
Ela aprendeu a mexer no computador. E dominou msn, skype, google...
Ela dormia comendo torrada.
Ela acordava cedo.

Minha conselheira, minha amiga, meu porto seguro. Minha melhor vovó do mundo!

She enjoyed telling this story. She used to say that, as she went to the hospital to visit me the day I was born, feeling very happy because I was her first grandchild .... when she held me in her arms, I looked right into her eyes and smiled!
Nobody believed it, saying that newborns are not able to see well, and that they don’t smile on purpose. But I think I did smile. It was love at first sight, an eternal bond between us.

We were always “glued together”, we always got along.
I always loved her with all of my heart. And she loved me unconditionally. She always believed in me, and thought that I was better than I really was. And I wanted to be better, because I didn’t want to disappoint her.
The best Grandma in the world, that’s who she is.
Far from being perfect. But the person I most saw learnig from her own mistakes, and really changing her attitude.
She forgave what the world finds unforgivable.
She was a servant of our Lord and loved Him so dearly, with all of her heart.
She showed me this love.

She liked to eat “tapioca”. And she felt cold all the time. She cried missing my grandpa, even though it has been more than 15 years that he is gone.
The thing she loved most to do was to cook. And she was soooo good at it!
She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing.
She liked to write and she filled notebooks and more notebooks.
She used to make funny faces.
She learned to use the computer. And mastered msn, skype, google ... All for being able to talk to my mommy, who moved out from our country.
She was so very intelligent.
She used to sleep eating toasts.
She used to wake up early.
She used to feed the birds.
She liked the color yellow.
She was very jealous (but could not be told that. She would always deny!)
She prayed non stop.

My Granny Ivanize. The day she would leave me was always one of the biggest fears of my life.
My adviser, my friend, my safe harbor. My best Grandma in the whole world!
I love you with all my heart. I'm missing you so so much, but I know that you will always be with me, in my heart.
And yet I know that we will see each other again, when it is my turn to go to our Jesus, or -better yet- when the day of the glorius return of our Lord comes!

(please forgive me for my grammar mistakes, my head is not thinking straight right now...)
