Sábado na serra / Saturday up in the mountains

-----------------------------
We enjoyed a wonderful saturday! We went up hill to celebrate Rodrigo's cousin's birthday. She threw a barbecue party at her parents's "vacation house".  (I don't know if this concept exists world wide, nor the correct name if it does. But here in Brazil some families have an extra home, in the beach or in the woods, where they go for holidays).
It was a 2 hours drive. Lilla's first car trip. I was quite anxious about it, but it went all ok! We chose to live at nap time, and she fell asleep, only waking up when we were there.

-------------------------------
It was hard to convince her to take off the now omnipresent snow white dress. As I am no fool mommy, I wraped it and puted it in my purse, to avoid any possible tantrums about it when we were there. Lucky me! Look at what was our little cousin Bia wearing when we met  her??? Oh, yes, a Snow White dress! Lilla imediatelly asked for hers. Mommy here got proud of her wise mommyness! Ha ha ha!
It was so cute to watch them playing together. When one wouldn't find the other, one would ask: "Where is the other Snow White?"

------------------------
Our little cousins live close to us, but unfortunately we almost never meet. The day-by-day life gets in the way, and as their mom and dad both go to work, it's hard to find the time. We gotta do something about it, though, because now the kids recognize each other and really enjoy playing together!

It was a wonderfull day, delicious and lazy. We chatted, we played, we ate... Being with family charges my batteries!

-----------------------
And on Sunday we stayed home, just the 3 of us. After church I found some spare time while Lilla played with daddy and got to sewing. I'm thrilled, I managed to finish a skirt, a shirt and a dress from my to-do pile! But I still need to get pictures so I can show them you. Husband was saying that someday he will do the math to figure out how much we save on clothes for Lilla with  all the mommy made production! ha ha ha!

What about your weekend? Did you have fun?

  4. Cris, o próprio!

Jamie, wip is "work in progress"! Usually my fellows illustrators are the ones who use "wip" to describe not finished works... I assumed it coul be used for other types of work too, but now I think not everybody understands it, so I'll fix the post!

Olivia, thanks for the compliments! ^^
